For the third year running the Annual Arts and Crafts Exhibition and Fayre is being held at Bryn Meadows Golf Hotel & Spa. The local group, based in Pentwynmawr are hosting the event on Wednesday 1st November and Thursday 2nd November between 10am and 8pm with free entry for all.
The exhibition was officially opened by Dr Hefin David AM who was born and brought up in the Caerphilly Constituency and attended local schools Heolddu and Bargoed.
On display are original paintings, drawings, jewellery, textiles, photographs and other expressive pieces are on display with the opportunity for members of the public and guests to view and even purchase the work – ideal for those looking for unique gifts, especially with the festive season approaching.
The Blackwood Community Art Group began as a small group who met informally each week. Twelve years ago it formed into a voluntary organisation and slowly started to increase the membership. Members meet on a weekly basis in Pentwynmawr Community Centre and use a wide variety of mediums and techniques. Alongside this the group regularly organise visits to art galleries and exhibitions, as well as workshops and demonstrations. New members are welcome.
The event has been held at Bryn Meadows Golf Hotel & Spa for the last two years, and the team were delighted when they said they wished to return;
“I was thrilled that the Blackwood Community Art Group wanted to hold their arts and crafts exhibition and fayre at Bryn Meadows again this year. Growing up in Blackwood, I am keen to support local community groups, where possible, in the area. Myself and the team are looking forward to seeing the different works that have been produced.” Gavyn Bolton, General Manager at Bryn Meadows Golf Hotel & Spa.
