What is National Pizza Month?
October is National Pizza Month. Pizza has been around for an incredibly long time, and it is believed that the word goes back as far as 997 AD in Italy. Some say that Roman soldiers created the first pizza when they added cheese and olive oil to Matzah bread.
It is also attributed to America when tomatoes were discovered there in the 16th Century and returned to Europe. The pizza as a flatbread with a tomato sauce started in Naples and for obvious reasons became very popular. Until the 1830’s it was sold exclusively from open-air stands and out of pizza bakeries.
How to celebrate National Pizza Month?
The month allows you to celebrate one of the nation’s favourite food. Ten inch pizzas are now available in Winners Bar and you can choose between cheese and tomato, meat feast, ham and pineapple and pepperoni for £5.75 per person. These can be eaten in the bar, on the terrace overlooking the golf course or you can even take away. These are ideal for your lunch break or for taking home.
On Thursdays you can join the team in Winners Bar between 12pm-10pm for our special offer of Pizza and Prosecco for £9.95 per person. There is no need to book, however, if you wanted too you can email firstname.lastname@example.org letting them know what date and time to expect you.
Where is Winners Bar at Bryn Meadows?
Winners Bar is our sports bar, the red bricked building to the left of the main resort. It is open to the public – everyone is welcome – and is also used by our golfers, gym members and hotel visitors. As well as the bar, there is a hot and cold snack menu which you can eat in or take away. Large screens adorn the walls where you can watch live sport throughout the year including the Ryder Cup, the Premier League and the upcoming rugby Autumn Internationals.
