Well, what a year 2021 has (already) been for Bryn Meadows Golf, Hotel, and Spa. With lots of changes throughout the resort we have plenty of updates to let you know about; including: promotions, our PGA Professional, Natasha Gobey receiving ‘Pro of the year’, and refurbishments, including: Fusion Spa and Hotel Rooms.
Natasha Gobey – PGA Golf Professional – ‘Pro of the Year Award’
Natasha has worked here, at Bryn Meadows for just over 3 years. She has been golfing for 13 years and started playing regularly when she was just 11 years old at Rhondda Golf Club. From there, Natasha went on to represent Wales in numerous tournaments throughout her teens and gained a golf scholarship to America, where she stayed for a year. Upon her return, she decided to undertake her PGA Coaching degree and got a job at the UK's leading golf school (at the time) - James Andrews School of Golf in East Sussex. Natasha stayed there for 7 years and then returned to Wales and started here, at Bryn Meadows Golf, Hotel & Spa.
When Natasha first began working here, she quickly gained contact with Wales Golf by doing outreach work to local schools in Rhondda Cynon Taf and Caerphilly to help promote the sport. This outreach lead to the growth of children participating in coaching at the First Swing Golf Academy. Natasha also started a new2golf ladies coaching programme, along with First Swing - which was a huge success. During 2019 Natasha estimated that she put a golf club in over 3000 children's hands in that year alone! Because of this Wales Golf awarded her with ‘Pro of the Year’ for her commitment and success in developing the game.
Natasha’s role here at Bryn Meadows varies from working in the Pro – Shop, taking membership enquires, along with a general professional service, such as; keep growing the game and developing people's game as a golf coach. Natasha teaches beginners to advance and continues to do outreach work to local schools to keep promoting the sport, along with our First Swing Golf Academy.
The next steps for Natasha are for her to pass her personal training certification to offer an overall performance programme to players. Keep up the great work Natasha – From all the team here at the resort, congratulations!
